TO PRACTICE WITH YOUR PUPPY?

First - congratulations to the new family member. Hopefully you have many and wonderful years ahead of you.

For the first time, your cute puppy needs peace and quiet. It needs to land in its new home and with its new family members. For a small puppy, life largely consists of sleeping, peeing and eating. And in between to slowly explore the environment. When the puppy gets bigger, you can expand the puppy's world and start the journey to the adult dog you want.

WHAT SORT OF DOG FITS YOU? 

Buy your puppy based on its characteristics, not on how cute it is. For all puppies are cute! Even before you buy your puppy, you should therefore have checked the origin of the dog breed.

Three common breeds in Sweden are dachshund, border collie and golden retriever. In addition to the appearance, there are also completely different types of dogs and which can be good to know. A dachshund is a dog with barking hunting characteristics, a border collie is a working herding dog that is also very easy to learn. Golden is a retrieving bird dog, which may explain why it wants to wear your glove.

The origin of your puppy shows the type of dog you will get. Will it be easy to bark? Does it like to hunt? Will the dog's fur need to be cut? All this can be good to know and decide on before choosing a puppy.

Because the more times the dog does the right thing, the easier it will be for it to understand what you mean. But remember that it can take time to get the doggy room clean, so be patient.

CAN THE PUPPY EXERCISE?

So it was with exercise. Do not think that you should exercise the puppy, but of course the little one needs to move. It can be good to let the dog use his body. Because just like for us humans, dogs feel good about moving. Getting to climb and run and balance is something a puppy needs to learn to find all four legs and to develop his body control. If the puppy gets tired, then the promenade may have been too long. Another way is to lift the doggy and carry it for a while. Soon the little dog will probably get fit again and want to go down to earth to continue his explorer adventure.

It is by being able to take part in walks that the dog gets to learn more about what the world looks like, so get used to it in different environments, both forest and urban environment. Let the puppy learn how a truck sounds, that children ride bicycles, that there are other animals and people.

Let the puppy training be based on play. By playing with the dog, it learns at the same time as you two build a nice relationship. And that's exactly what makes puppy training so fun! To play and be with the puppy is to train. To get the dog to learn its name, that is to train. To make the little doggy not bite on shoes, it's to train. To get the puppy to go on a leash, that is, to train. So your normal everyday life includes a lot of training time.

Train positively and reward generously. Puppy training is something that you can start immediately when the puppy comes to your home. The first thing the puppy will learn is probably his name, but then there are more simple exercises that you can play in, like sit and come.
