The tug of war roll is a durable toy that triggers play. A really fun thing to use for tug-of-war with your dog. The size of the toy also makes it handy to take with you and quickly retrieve as a reward. Maybe use it when you really want to strengthen your dog.
This particular playroll is made by Jami Hundsport in Västervik, Sweden. The soft leather is vegetable tanned and comes from the Swedish Tärnsjö tannery. The toy is softly stuffed with sheep wool, which also makes the dog toy itself softer than many other fighting rolls.
The stick has continuous channel strips that become handles on each side. The advantage of using continuous handles is that they are fixed and cannot come loose during hard playing. Each end of the handles has a small knot for better grip.
Playing with the dog can be a very good reward method that many dogs like. Remember that tug-of-war does not have to mean anything negative, and that it has nothing to do with "fighting dogs". There are many breeds and individuals that like to have tug-of-war games. So regardless of the size of your dog, small as a dachshund or large as a Newfoundland, he may like to pull and fight over the toy.
