DIFFICULT AND FUN BALANCE PLATE FOR YOUR DOG
Advanced balancing on the wooden plate
Hard physical training of dogs
Fun time with the dog
From American FitPAWS comes the balance plate that allows your dog to work and concentrate to maintain balance. This is an advanced, and very fun, training tool to activate the doggy. Great for the active competition dog but also for the companion dog who might not take the turns otherwise.
In the beginning, it can be really difficult for the dog to keep its balance on the round wooden plate, then it can be a good idea for you to help the doggy by still holding the board. Another tip to make the wobble board a little more stable is to put a donut holder under the plate to reduce swaying.
The wobble board consists of a round thick wooden plate with a non-slip mat on top. On the underside, there is a joint ball with 360 degree dynamic rotation, which allows the plate to move and wobble. In order for the dog to be able to balance on the plate, the doggy needs to activate and use many muscles. It increases the dog's mobility and strength and of course the self-confidence to be able to maintain the center of gravity on the wobbly plate.
In the beginning, it is probably quite difficult to just stand on the balance board, but when the dog learns the technique, you can challenge and be the dog to vary the position between sitting/standing/lying, or maybe ask the dog to reach for treats in different directions and heights. Want to make it even harder? Add a balance ball, preferably paw pods or fitbone on top and have the dog balance on these while it stands on the wooble board.
SIZE
50 cm in diameter, height 10 cm.
HANSESGÅRDEN RECOMMENDS
It's a lot harder than it looks, so keep your workouts short. Allow the dog to rest between attempts to balance. If your dog has an injury, we recommend that you check with a dog physiotherapist or other medically knowledgeable staff before you start training.
