SWEDISH DOG FOOD MADE FROM BLUE MUSSELS
- Made from Swedish raw materials
- Gluten-free
- Contains natural glucosamine
Swedish complete feed that is based on MSC-classified blue mussels and other ingredients come from the local area. There are only natural ingredients here, which makes the dog food both tasty and sustainable.
The advantage of the blue mussel is that it contains omega-3, glucosamine and amino acids and the fact that it comes from Orust does not directly make matters worse. Just omega-3 and glucosamine can contribute to increased mobility in joints.
The Swedish company Glufs is based in Bohuslän, in west Sweden. It is also here in the area that the blue mussels are taken from the sea. The mussels that are eaten by us humans instead become useful dog food. Glufs mussel meal contains 25% protein and 12% fat. And besides the fact that this dog food is tasty and rich in content, it is also good for the planet. Mussels leave a lower climate footprint than meat from beef, chicken or pig. But not only that, the blue mussels are also MSC-classified, which means that they are fished sustainably.
Is your dog allergic or sensitive to traditional protein sources? Then maybe this is the dog food for you, because mussels often pose a lower allergy risk.

THIS IS WHY WE CALL IT CLIMATE SMART
There are two rather big reasons why we call it climate smart. Partly because the food is made in Sweden from Swedish ingredients. This means that no long transports to and from the factory are needed.
And partly because the blue mussel requires less resources than, for example, cattle, pigs and chickens do. This means that the mussel has less climate impact than traditional sources of protein in dog food.
The blue mussel is found in the sea off Bohuslän. It filters water and cleans the ocean while storing nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen. In this way, the blue mussel contributes to reducing eutrophication. When the mussel is then harvested, part of the eutrophication follows up on land. While the mussel is consumed by either humans or dogs, the over-fertilization is reused for biogas, animal feed or fertiliser.
In summary, Glufs Musselmeal is simply a nutritious Swedish dog food that is also good for the environment. No wonder the dogs like it.
