There were a few questions that Njord Pet pondered and that also became a reason why the company was founded.
Why are the overwhelming majority of dog chews sold in Sweden made outside of Europe? Why is only the country of manufacture printed and not where the main raw material comes from, for example the cow whose skin is often the product's main raw material? How is it that the country of manufacture seems to be withheld from the packaging information by being printed in miniature size and via country codes instead of the full country name? What are the animal welfare laws like in the country where the cow was raised and slaughtered?
And based on that, Njord Pet was started. The ambition was to create healthy and tasty dog chews with a sustainable origin label and transparent ingredients list. Here, the chew bones are made in Sweden, from Swedish raw materials. In fact, the skin used even comes from farms in central Sweden, which makes the transport to the factory in Bålsta outside Stockholm very short.
