Does your dog get stressed and staring and panting when on a thunderstorm, or when it's New Year's Eve and the fireworks are flying? Is the doggy nervous when you ride in the car or at the vet?
The Thundershirt comes from the American company ThunderWorks. This is the patented original jersey that many have since tried to imitate. The shirt is completely chemical-free, which also means that there are no medicines or drugs that can cause side effects.
The sweater provides a constant pressure over the dog's torso, and it is this pressure that works as a calming effect on the doggy. This light and soft thunder shirt breathes, while still having a tight fit.
The first time the dog tries the Thundershirt, do it when the doggy is not stressed. Let it get used to wearing the shirt. The thunder coat is easy to put on and does not require you to put it over the dog or put the head in the paws in special holes. Instead, you just place the blanket on the dog's back and fasten with Velcro. Remember that the coat should not fit too tightly, but with a comfortable pressure.
To make the shirt fit, it has a total of four buckles with Velcro that must be tightened. Place the blanket on the dog's back and first pull it forward on the chest. This velcro is to make the quilt sit far forward on the back, but does not need to be tightened tightly.
The gray thunder shirt Thundshirt is available in six different sizes, which means that there is a size that fits your dog, whether it is a small papillon, a medium-sized poodle or a large German shepherd.
The dog shirt is machine washable.
