Not all dogs like claw clipping, many find it uncomfortable. It can therefore be a good idea to train the dog to be clawed. Start already when the puppy is small and get it used to touching and handling. Then you can train the dog to cut only small pieces of clone. And do not forget to reward the dog with both pats and sweets.
Cutting the dog's claws often, but very little can sometimes be recommended, and then maybe just take one paw per day. If you do not get it despite claw-cutting training, contact your veterinarian for help.
